The activities of the Department include:

• organizing the collection of data from agricultural holdings;
• collecting data sent from Agricultural Advisory Centers;
• creating a computer database based on data received from accounting offices;
• preparing reports and analyses and disseminating the results;
• submitting individual FSDN farm reports from a statistically representative sample of farms to the European Commission every year.

The above activities are carried out by six sections : Methodology and Training Section, Data Collection Organization Section, Database Management Section, Analyses and Results Publication Section, Multimedia Communication Section and Typology for Agricultural Holdings Section.
